CEMA Newsletter: September 2024
Identifying new trends in event marketing
Brian Mason
VP, Strategy & Operations | CEMA
The summer is leaving quickly, and the fall event season is upon us. Huge tech events like Salesforce’s Dreamforce and Workdays Rising are just a few days away from loading in. IMEX is right around the corner in a few weeks bringing together industry leaders from around the world.
We are seeing new trends in upcoming shows, and CEMA is leading the way in understanding what is new in the industry with our CEMA and PWC research project sponsored by PCMA Foundation, Hilton, and Encore. We need your help. Please take a few minutes to fill out our research survey here. We will be sharing our findings with you in October to help you with your budgeting and planning process for 2025.
Did I mention that there is an incentive? We are raffling off 7 $150 Amazon gift cards for those that have taken the survey by 9/20.

Important Update: Membership Cycle Change
On September 1st, CEMA transitioned from a calendar expiration model to an anniversary expiration model. This change means that memberships will now expire one year from the date they become active. Here’s how this shift will affect you.
New Members
If you joined as a new member after September 1st, your membership will expire exactly one year from the date it becomes active.
A new member is defined as someone without an active or expired CEMA membership. This also includes members transitioning from a corporate membership to an individual membership.
Current Members
For those renewing before their expiration date (December 31, 2024):
Your renewal will be for a membership starting January 1st, and going forward, this will be your new anniversary date.
For those renewing during the expiration grace period (within 3 months after expiration):
Your membership will expire one year from the date it becomes active.
Current members include both corporate and individual memberships that are still active or in their grace period.
